Three COVID Deaths in Warren County in Past Week

December 6, 2020

WARREN, Pa. – Warren County’s COVID-19 related death count increased by three in the last week.

Warren County Coroner Melissa Zydonik confirmed to Your Daily Local Sunday that three county residents died as a result of COVID-19 related issues in the last week. All COVID deaths must be reported to the county coroner.

“There were three, yes,” Zydonik said. “Their ages were 58, 85 and 88.”

One of the deaths was at a long-term care facility, while the other two were at Warren General Hospital.

“As far as I’m aware, all (three) were (COVID) positive,” Zydonik said.

As of noon Sunday, the state COVID-19 Dashboard still had just a single death listed for Warren County. According to the Dashboard, the only death reported in the county was June 28.

Zydonik said the physician records the death through an electronic death certificate. Once the certificate is complete, it is recorded with the state and reported.

“I’m not sure where the state is with reporting,” Zydonik said.
