Steffan’s Big Weekend Leads Wolverines to Pair of Sweeps

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Kadence Steffan had two big games to help propel Sheffield volleyball to consecutive 3-0 wins on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday night, Steffan had a double-double with 21 assists and 14 digs as the Wolverines defeated visiting Youngsville 3-0 (25-16, 25-20 and 25-12). Steffan also served three aces in the match.

Kassidy Orinko nearly had a double-double of her own with 11 kills and nine digs. She also had three blocks. Lynzie Grubbs had eight kills and Emily Foster had four kills and four blocks.

SHEFFIELD 3, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 0 (SATURDAY)
Steffan was a couple of digs shy of her second straight double-double with 25 assists and eight digs in a 3-0 (25-13, 25-15 and 25-18) win over DuBois Central Catholic on Saturday.

Perhaps even more impressive, Steffan was a perfect 22-22 from the service line (no service errors) in the match.

Foster had a team-high six blocks to go along with six kills in the match. Orinko had 11 kills and six digs, while Grubbs had seven kills and Lexi Goldthwaite had six digs and four kills.

JUNIOR VARSITY
Sheffield won both junior varsity contests as well.

On Friday, Syrena Antonuccio had 12 assists and Madison Connolly five kills in a 25-22 and 26-24 win over Youngsville.

Antonuccio had six assists and five aces, while Connolly had seven digs and Foster five kills and three blocks in Saturday’s win over DCC.
