MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and
  • Equivalent proven work experience or
  • Associate degree
  • Experience with marketing, advertising, or customer service situations
  • Experience with using basic office software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent proven work experience
  • Experience in adult education, workforce development, or corporate training
  • Familiarity using customer relationship management systems
  • Knowledge of relevant funding sources for student assistance
  • Knowledge of student recruitment and retention
  • Experience with networking and sales, including cold calls

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Community Engagement, the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College Educational Representatives (NPRC Educational Reps) will contribute to the establishment and development of corporate and community relationships as the front-line faces of the College. Individuals in this role will identify and maintain relationships with businesses, community stakeholders, potential students, and influencers for both academic and workforce development programs.

The NPRC Educational Reps will provide support to existing Workforce Development and Academic activities and programs. Individuals in this position will actively recruit students for enrollment in both academic and workforce development courses. In addition, they are responsible for developing and fostering relationships with community entities and organizations to ensure NPRC maintains a positive and active presence in the communities we serve. The NPRC Educational Reps will assist in the development of non-credit and customized training programs for businesses and play an active role in cultivating relationships with businesses, secondary schools, and local community entities.

Individuals in this role are part of a growing team dedicated to improving the economic stability of Northern Pennsylvania communities by increasing access to educational and workforce training opportunities for the people who live and work in them. NPRC Educational Reps play an integral role in making an immediate impact on regional workforce training and education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establish and maintain corporate and community relationships
  • Meet with non-profits, small and large businesses, and community organizations to determine their workforce development and academic programming needs through discussions and assessments such as surveys, interviews, and document review
  • Encourage businesses to support employees and their family’s enrollment in both academic and workforce development courses
  • Participate in community events as appropriate
  • Provide presentations to local groups as applicable promoting NPRC academic and workforce education offerings
  • Initiate recruitment phone calls and emails to potential clients and students to provide awareness and knowledge of services and programs offered
  • Active recruitment of academic and workforce development students
  • Maintain current knowledge on:
  • All upcoming Academic and Workforce Development offerings and schedules
  • Policy, procedures, and processes for enrollment
  • All established NPRC educational programs (Academic and Workforce Development)
  • Workforce development and academic offerings and how those offerings correlate to educational and career pathways
  • Community funding opportunities and additional resources for students
  • Develop a relationship with multiple contacts at assigned secondary school districts to educate faculty, staff, and students about NPRC educational opportunities
  • Represent the College with targeted constituencies such as Chambers of Commerce, service organizations, and local government such as Boroughs and Cities
  • Collaborate with Student Engagement Specialists (SES) to enhance student recruitment and advisement opportunities
  • Serve on internal and external committees as required
  • Participate in professional development opportunities as required by supervisors
  • Actively promote College’s mission in daily activities
  • Cultivate and support a positive college culture of inclusiveness and collaboration
  • Other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Consistent access to a vehicle or reliable means to travel within the college’s service counties

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to obtain the following clearances and training:

  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History Record Check
  • Federal Criminal History Background Check
  • Training Certificate – Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania

WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:

Office Location: Dependent upon the incumbent’s residence location, office availability, and College needs. For more information regarding NPRC locations visit org.
Work hours: This position requires work hour flexibility and varied hours, including evenings and weekends
Full-time salaried employees are expected to work 40 hours weekly

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequent daily travel throughout the College’s service region required
