Warren’s Emma Ruhlman was named Region 6 girls’ basketball Player of the Year as District 10 region all-star teams were announced.
Ruhlman was joined on the first team by fellow senior Riley Childress, as the two wrapped up their decorated high school careers with a third District 10 title in four seasons.
Ruhlman averaged a double-double with 15.6 points per game to go along with 10.3 rebounds per game while shooting 55 percent from the floor and 87 percent from the free-throw line.
Childress, meanwhile, averaged 13.7 ppg., 4.5 assists per game and 3.1 steals per game withile shooting 38 percent from three-point range.
On the boys’ side, Eisenhower’s Wyatt Lookenhouse and Curt Darling were first-team selections in Region 2, and the Warren backcourt duo of Parks Ordiway and Tommy Nyquist were second-team in Region 5.
Eisenhower finished in a second-place tie in Region 2, with the junior Lookenhouse leading the way at 15.4 ppg.
Darling, a senior, checked in at 11.5 points per game under first-year head coach Ryan Mangini.
Cambridge Springs’ Nathan Held and Union City’s Matthew Bennett shared Region 2 Player of the Year honors.
Ordiway, a sharpshooting junior, connected on 62 threes this season, leading the Dragons, who finished in a second-place tie in Region 5, at 13.7 ppg. while shooting 40 percent from three.
Nyquist, the Dragons’ sophomore floor general, averaged 9.6 ppg. to go along with 4.5 apg. while shooting 39 percent from distance.
Fairview’s Logan Frazao garnered the Region 5 Player of the Year.
