Record Donations for Warren Gives 2021

May 23, 2021

WARREN, Pa. — It seems nothing can slow Warren County’s generosity.

After raising nearly $650,000 in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the annual day of giving surpassed last year’s total by more than $80,000. The 100 participating organizations raised a total of $731,792.71 an increase of over 12 percent from the total of $648,232 raised in 2020.

The total includes $60,000 in matching funds donated by the Community Foundation, DeFrees Family Memorial Fund, Betts Foundation, Crossett, Northwest Charitable Foundation, McComas Charitable Fund, Sara Sokolski Memorial Fund, Superior Tire and Rubber, and United Refining Company.

The event recorded 5,832 donations from 1821 donors. The average donation was $115.19, though donations ranged from $10 to $7,000. On average, each donor contributed to three organizations. All participating organizations received donations.

“We are grateful for the outpouring of support for non-profit organizations serving Warren County,” said John Lasher, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “After last year we were not sure what to expect, but people are so aware of the needs in Warren County and used Warren Gives to support our local organizations. Their generosity is amazing!”

The Foundation will be publishing more information about the event, including a thank you for all donors, as well as listings of the top fundraisers, and winners of the incentive prizes.

Early planning is already underway for next year’s Warren Gives Event to be held on May 18, 2022.
