Obstruction Call Ends Game as Dragons Drop Slugfest With Franklin

FRANKLIN, Pa. – An obstruction call at home plate gave Franklni a 13-12 win over Warren in an offensive slugfest.

Kadin Karns single brought in Alex Wible, who was ruled safe on the obstruction call.

Warren had tied the game in the top of the seventh on a fielder’s choice of the bat of Gio Elinsky.

Warren led 8-3, but Franklin scored nine runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 12-8 lead. Warren responded with three runs in the sixth before the game-tying run in the seventh.

Karns homered and drove in four runs for Franklin, while Aidan McCracken was 3-for-4 with four RBIs, Drew Kockler was 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs, Sam Wimer was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Ethan Nightingale was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs.

Wimer got the win, allowing four runs in two innings.

Konnor Hoffman was 3-for-5 with four RBIs for Warren, while Eric Dippold drove in two runs, Anthony Errett was 2-for-3 with a run and CJ Wyman, Owen Blum and Carson Farr all had an RBI each. The Dragons scored in every inning.

Blum took the loss, allowing three runs in 1 ⅔ innings.
