Music on the Mountain Coming to Wolverine Mountain in Sheffield July 28

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Music on the Mountain will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 28, at “Wolverine Mountain” at Sheffield Junior/Senior High School.

Music on the Mountain is a Drum Corps International Open Class Competition and is sponsored by the Sheffield Music Boosters. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. with a shuttle service available from the St. Anthony Church/St. Paul Center parking lot west of Sheffield Junior/Senior High School.

Pre-sale tickets are available until 3 p.m. Thursday, July 27, on the Music on the Mountain website for $15. Tickets will also be available until that time at Sheffield Pharmacy and Peterson Hardware in Sheffield and Crone’s Gift & Medical Supply and Blue Line Auto LLC in Warren for $15. Tickets will also be available at the gate for $20.

Seven drum corps from across the United States and Canada will arrive on July 27 for the July 28 show.

The corps that are coming include Southwind from Mobile, Ala., Raiders from Princeton, N.J., Columbians from Tri-Cities, Wash., Spartans from Nashua, N.H., Jersey Surf from Camden County, N.J., Gold from San Diego, Calif., and Les Stntors from Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.

The corps will be housed around the area including high schools in Warren, Forest, and McKean counties as well as at the YMCA in Warren.

In Warren County, Spartans will be housed at Sheffield, Jersey Surf will be housed at Eisenhower, Les Stentors will be housed at Tidioute Charter, and Raiders will be housed at the YMCA in Warren.

In Forest County, Columbians will be housed at West Forest and Gold will be housed at East Forest, and in McKean County Southwind will be housed at Kane Middle School.

Spectators are welcome to observe practice at a respectable distance at the rehearsal sites.

Music on the Mountain was developed by Sheffield Music Booster president Art Lane, a Sheffield alumnus.
