Lengthy Law Enforcement Activity in City of Warren Ends With Burham Still At Large Early Saturday Morning

July 8, 2023

WARREN, Pa. – There was heavy law enforcement presence on the 400 block of Water St. for over six hours Friday night into Saturday morning, but at the end of it, Michael Burham remained at large.

Pennsylvania State Police officials confirmed to Your Daily Local just after 3 a.m. Saturday morning that Burham, who escaped from the Warren County Jail late Thursday night, was not located at the residence in question upon entry.

“We’re continuing to follow leads,” PSP officials said.

Multiple local, state, and federal authorities arrived at the scene at approximately 8 p.m.

Burham is the primary suspect in the May 11 shooting death of Kala Hodgkin, which occurred at her residence on William St. in Jamestown, and was being held on kidnapping charges at the Warren County Jail before his escape.

Multiple state and federal agencies assisted at the scene, as well as the City of Warren Police.

“At this time, we are asking residents to check their own cameras and doorbell cameras during that time frame and if they see something suspicious, call 716-483-8477 (Jamestown Police Department tip line),” said Public Information Officer Cecile Stetler during Friday’s 5 p.m. press conference at the Warren County Courthouse.

“Leave a message and someone will return your call. We would also like to extend that to people who have trail cams out in the woods, to check those as well.”
