SHEFFIELD, Pa. – It was a fun-filled weekend in Sheffield, as the Johnny Appleseed festival returned to a rousing success.
Saturday marked the peak of the festival. Food and craft vendors were set up throughout, and there was plenty of entertainment as well that persevered despite some rain.

There was the lumberjack and lumberjill competition, an apple pie baking contest (which was won by Theresa Fry), polka music, a horse pull, as well as the ever-popular wine trail.
The night was capped by fireworks and on Saturday, the releasing of the lanterns on Sunday.
