Andy CloseJohn “Jack” Acklin, 81, of Warren, Pa., died Mon-day evening, Aug. 9, 2021, at the John & Orpha Blair Hospice Home, Warren, Pa,. after an extended illness.
He was born May 10, 1940, in Titusville, Pa. He was the son of William and Mary Murdin Keien Acklin Sr.
Jack was a Warren area resident since 1958 and a 1958 graduate of Warren High School. He was a truck driver and worked in the plant of G.T.E. Sylvania for 30 plus years.
He and his wife were Harley-Davidson enthusiast. Jack was a member of Warren Eagle Aerie, Warren Moose Lodge 109, and Warren American Legion Post 135. He and his wife, enjoyed wintering in Florida
Jack is survived by his wife, Sarah “Sally” Robbins Acklin, whom he married May 15, 2004 in Warren, Pa.; three children: Scott Acklin and wife, Cortland of Prescott, Ariz., Justine Kincaid and hus-band, Kraig of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Kelly Marshall and husband, Cory of Prescott, Ariz.; two stepchildren: Rick McKenzie,Jr. and wife, Donna of Port Angeles, Wassh., and Robin Carr and husband, John of Waterford, Pa.; one sister, Patricia Benson of Warren, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful and loving companion, his Morkie dog, Harley Jake.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, John “Jackie” Acklin Jr.; one grandson, Jessie,; and one brother, William Acklin.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Fri-day, Aug. 13, 2021, from 6 -8 p.m.. and a funeral and committal service will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Marcus Briggs, re-tired minister, officiating. Interment will be in the Warren County Memorial Park.
