John Floyd Culver

John Floyd Culver, 79, of Scandia, Pa., passed away surrounded by his loving family on Nov. 8, 2021.

John was born on June 2, 1942, in Jamestown, N.Y., to the late W. Floyd and Beatrice (Danielson) Culver. He was a 1960 graduate of Cassadaga High School and worked for several years as an engineer at GTE Sylvania from which he retired. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. John enjoyed fly fishing, woodworking and drafting. Never formally schooled in engineering and drafting, he had a tremendous amount of natural talent in mechanics and design. He also loved to cook and everyone around him got to enjoy his culinary talents. John loved his family and especially enjoyed and loved his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife, M. Jane (Plowright) Culver, whom he married on Aug. 31, 1963; three children: Lori (Denny) Nuhfer of Warren, Bryan (Jackie) Culver of Akron, N.Y., and Jason (Janell) Culver of Vicksburg, Mich. His siblings: Susan (Jack) Stoops of Warren, Patick (Karen) Culver of Boise, Idaho, and Richard Culver of North Carolina; five grandchildren: Tyler Little, Vanessa Darr, Elisabeth Pangborn, Elizabeth Warner and Alisa Nuhfer; three great-grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Peterson Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna Ave. E., Warren, on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, from 2-4 p.m., and for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at 11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Market St. Warren, Pa,. with the Rev. Mark Hecht, pastor, and the Rev. Mike Ruttenbur, co-officiating.

Burial will be in the Warren County Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave., Warren, Pa.
