Andy CloseMatthew Robert Miko, 52, of Warren, formerly of Sheffield, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, Nov. 8, 2021, at his home.
He was born on Jan. 20, 1969, in Warren, the son of Robert Andrew Miko and Maryann Helen (Lugar) Miko.
Matt was a 1987 graduate of Sheffield High School. He gained employment at the Ellwood Forge as an assembler inspector until the present. He was Catholic Bysentine Rite by faith.
Earlier on he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Penn State University football fan and loved his Cleveland Browns. Matt would relax by listening to hard rock and jazz music. He was an avid Frank Sinatra fan.
Left behind to cherish Matthews memory are his father and mother, Robert A. and Maryann H Miko of Sheffield; his girlfriend Barb Myers; two daughters: Hannah Miko and Kayla Barber and their mother, Michele Miko; one brother, Steve Miko; one sister, Sarah Miko; one grandchild, Althea Rose Barber. As well as several nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his faithful furry companion, Ollie.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Matthew and Anna Lugar; his paternal grandparents, Andrew and Maryann Miko; his uncles: George Miko and John Miko; and an aunt and uncle, Joe and Rosalie Pretko.
Matthew’s family will welcome family and friends on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, from noon to 2 p.m., at the Borden Funeral Home in Sheffield. Blessing services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Father David Bosnich of St. Michaels Catholic Church Bysentine Rite will preside. Committal and burial will follow at the St. Michaels Cemetery in Sheffield.
