James H. Stearns

James H. Stearns, 90, of Warren, Pa., passed away on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at his residence, following a recent illness.

Jim was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Corry, Pa., the son of the late Ray and Grace Rapp Stearns.

He has been a lifelong area resident and a 1948 graduate of the Warren High School. He served in the US Air Force.

Jim was employed at the Warren State Hospital as a purchasing agent for 35 years, from which he retired. Jim was an avid trap shooter and was a member of the former Cornplanter Gun Club, the Randolph Gun Club, the Busti Trap Club, and Kalbus Gun Club. He and his grandson spent countless hours traveling and shooting at many local, state, and national events. He will be missed by many who knew and loved him.

Jim is survived by his son, Christopher Stearns and his wife, Karen of Warren, Pa.; a grandson, Aaron Stearns and his wife, Carissa of Warren, Pa.; a granddaughter, Melissa Stearns and her fiance Christopher Robinson of Raleigh, N.C.; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death on Nov. 8, 1998, by his wife, Patricia Smith Stearns; and a great grand daughter, Deserae Stearns.

Friends will be received at the PetersonBlick Funeral Home, Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, from 10 a.m. until noon, at which time a funeral service will be held, with the Rev. Bill Beaty, pastor, Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
