Ishman Announces Candidacy for Warren County Treasurer

April 25, 2023

WARREN, Pa. – Warren County Finance Administrator Jolean Ishman has announced her candidacy for Warren County Treasurer.

Ishman, a Warren Area High School, and DuBois Business College graduate, recently moved into the Finance Administrator role after spending nine years as Youngsville Borough Secretary.

“I feel I have made a smooth transition coming into this new position because of what I learned at Youngsville Borough and I am very grateful for this opportunity,” Ishman said in a release. “The last several years in public service have allowed me to understand the importance of community leadership and the impact we can have on our communities for good.”

Ishman began her career as the office manager at Elkhorn Propane. After 10 years with Elkhorn, Ishman took a position in accounts payables and insurance with John Anderson Construction before accepting the role with Youngsville Borough.

“For nine years I learned everything there is to know about local government including accounting, financing, budgeting, coding, managing multiple bank accounts, taxes, audits, and especially working with the community,” Ishman said.

If elected, Ishman said she plans to move towards a paperless system and greater automation within the Treasurer’s Office.

“I know that I am well qualified to be the next Warren County Treasurer because of my background, attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism,” Ishman said.

Ishman resides in Pittsfield with her husband of 29 years, Scott, and the couple has raised two grown children, Zachary and Alison.

“All of these experiences, opportunities, challenges, and the amazing people I’ve had the privilege of working with along the way, have prepared me for this next leadership role,” Ishman said. “I know that I am ready and excited for this new opportunity. And I ask for your support and your vote on May 16.”
