Ike, Warren Wrestlers Have Strong Showing at STWOA Holiday Classic

December 19, 2022

JAMESTOWN, NY – The STWOA Holiday Classic had a different look this year, but that didn’t stop Eisenhower and Warren wrestlers from putting on strong performances at Jamestown Community College Saturday.

The annual December wrestling event changed from a bracketed tournament to a pool tournament this year. All told, six county grapplers, four Knights, and two Dragons went undefeated during the one-day event.

Ryan Chambers, Shawn Pascuzzi, Tucker Lindell, and Mike Vanatta all went 4-0 for Eisenhower, while Josh Letko and Grant Heeter were 4-0 for Warren.

A number of wrestlers for both teams suffered only one loss on the day, including Warren’s Adika Fiscus (3-1), Cameron Williams (3-1), Trentin Anthony (3-1), Giovanni Elinsky (1-1), and Joe Krall (3-1), and Eisenhower’s Bryceton Wilkins (2-1), Cole Kellogg (3-1), Benji Bauer (3-1) and Shawn Miller (2-1).

Dragons Ryan Fitzsimmons (3-2), Conner Zaffino (2-2), Jordan Tuttle (2-2), and Damien Sanchez (2-2), as well as Ike’s Camron Jackubczak (2-2) also had strong showings.

Wrestlers from Bolivar-Richburg, Falconer-Cassadaga Valley, Frewsburg, Maple Grove, Portville, Randolph, and Southwestern in New York also competed at the event.

Both teams will be back on the mat Tuesday, this time in a dual match against each other. Warren hosts Eisenhower for the annual Whiteout Wrestling Against Cancer match. Fans of both teams are encouraged to wear white for the match and money raised will be donated to the Warren General Hospital Cancer Center in honor of Dean Johnson, the late Warren coach and brother of Eisenhower assistant coach Dennis Johnson.
