Eisenhower, Warren Fall in Softball Action

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Mikaila Obenrader achieved a rare feat, officially striking out 18 batters in 5 ⅔ innings in an 11-6 win over Eisenhower.

One of Obenrader’s strikeouts resulted in a dropped third strike with the batter reaching base, thus her 18 strikeouts in 5 ⅔ shutout inning. She allowed two hits.

Saegertown scored seven runs in the second inning en route to the win. Obrenader also got it done at the plate with a home run and two RBIs, while Alyssa Arblaster was 1-for-2 with three RBIs, Rhiannon Paris was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Kylie Stafford was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs.

Payton Frank was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Nakita Nelson had two RBIs and Tracey Jakubczak had two hits.

Frank took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits in 4 ⅔ innings.

MCDOWELL 14, WARREN 0, 5 innings

ERIE, Pa. – Izzy Nageli and Alex Smith had two RBIs each as McDowell blanked Warren, 14-0 in five innings.

Maddy Matlock and Gabby Deluca combined on a two-hit shutout, striking out four.
