Eisenhower Outlasts Youngsville in Five Sets

RUSSELL, Pa. – A strong night at the service line helped Eisenhower outlast rival Youngsville for a 3-2 (18-25, 25-15, 25-16, 19-25, 15-13) victory Tuesday.

The Knights served 24 aces throughout the match, led by Layla Edwards with eight and Emilie Jones with seven.

“We made a rotational error on the first set and the girls did a great job of adapting and working through it as a team,” Eisenhower coach Lori Pascuzzi said. “We were more aggressive tonight with several kills.”

Caroline Smyth led the attack with eight kills and eight blocks. Jones had seven kills, Lainey Font had six kills and five aces, Marissa Gourley had three kills and five blocks, and Kenzie Miller had two kills.

Edwards added four blocks, and Carley Christianson had four aces.
