Eisenhower Battles Past TCCS

October 18, 2022

RUSSELL, Pa. – After a dominating first-set win, Eisenhower had to bear down the rest of the way to pick up a 3-1 win over visiting Tidioute Community Charter School on Tuesday.

The Lady Knights rolled to a 25-11 win in the first set, but the Lady Bulldogs stormed back to win the second set in extra points, 28-26. Eisenhower came away with 25-20 and 25-14 wins in the final two sets to put the match away.

“The Knights showed progress in the final two sets to take the victory,” Eisenhower coach Patti Mead said. “The team has focused on passing with accuracy and taking control of the ball.”

Mead credited Sammy Briggs’ “quick defense and assists” for helping Eisenhower to the first-set win.

Briggs finished with five kills. Mikenzie Miller had nine kills and three blocks, Caroline Smyth had four kills and four blocks, Kailee Morrison had four kills, and Lexi Pascuzzi had six digs and three kills.

TCCS stats were not available as of 11:25 p.m. Tuesday.

Eisenhower won the junior varsity match 25-8 and 25-12.

The Knights close out the regular season with a trip to Iroquois on Thursday, while TCCS ends the season at home against Youngsville on Friday.
