Matt Sowa ran in the first 2K steeplechase with a mark of 7:21, taking fifth.

Other standouts on the boys’ side included Ethan Best, who was third in the 110 hurdles and fifth in the 200, as well as Sam Lindell, who was seventh in the 3200.

For the girls, Lilly Newton was second in the 400, Hannah Pearson was third in the 3200 and Shyann Rulander was fifth in the 3200, as was Lindsay Madigan in the triple jump. Also, the Dragons’ 4×100 relay team took fourth, while Newton took sixth in the 200 and Madigan eighth in the 100.

“The meet actually started with us getting back on the bus for a weather delay,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “Once we were able to compete, we battled the rain and cold to have some good performances against some good competition. We had a host of personal bests despite the conditions. We were glad to get into the facility we will be at again in a short couple of weeks for the D10 championships.”
