WARREN, Pa. – City of Warren Director of Public Works Director Mike Holtz will take over as acting City Manager until a permanent replacement is found for the outgoing Nancy Freenock.
Freenock is in her final week at the helm, having announced her retirement.
“The City of Warren is in a much better place under her leadership,” said Mayor David Wortman. “Her retirement is a bittersweet moment. We want to wish her all the best.”
Wortman presented Freenock with a gift of wind chimes from the council.
“It’s been my pleasure,” Freenock said. “I’ve worked with such a wonderful group of people. The council and staff been wonderful. We have a lot to be proud of.”
The search for a permanent city manager is ongoing, but the process is starting to near its conclusion per Wortman. Council approved during Monday’s special meeting to move forward with negotiations with a narrowed list of candidates.
