Demolition of Warren McDonald’s set to Begin

July 27, 2022

WARREN, Pa. – The McDonald’s in downtown Warren is going to have a whole new look.

The restaurant closed this week and demolition will begin Thursday, with construction on a new McDonald’s set to begin.

The goal is to have the restaurant re-opened in 100 days, per City of Warren Public Works Director Mike Holtz.

“The company that does this (Bohler Engineering) has done a lot of McDonald’s, and they do a great job,” Holtz said. “There’s no set date, but their goal is 100 days.”

If that timeline holds, that would mean a re-opening sometime in November.

The McDonald’s will look a lot different when it’s reopened, with two drive-through lanes instead of one, coming at the cost of 14 parking spaces.

“They’re actually starting some of the outside stuff today (Wednesday),” Holtz said. “Demolition of the building will start on Thursday.”
