Class 6A Power Erie Uses Big Fourth Quarter to Hand Dragons First Loss of Season

ERIE, Pa. – Erie outscored Warren 17-9 in the fourth quarter to hand the Dragons their first loss of the season, 53-44 in non-region action.

Erie led by one, 36-35 going to the fourth, with six different players scoring in the final eight minutes. Jamarious Johnson and Layveon Gore had four points each in the fourth.

Johnson led the way for the Royals (7-3) with a game-high 18 points, 12 of which game in the first half.

Both teams struggled from the free throw line, with Erie going 6-of-16 and Warren 3-of-8.

Gore and Anthony Blanks added eight points each for Erie.

Warren trailed 27-20 at halftime, but went on a 15-9 run to get back within one going into the fourth.

Braylon Barnes scored five of his team-high 14 points in the third for the Dragons (10-1).

Konnor Hoffman and Brady Berdine were also in double figures for Warren with 11 points each.
