City Council to Hold Special Meeting Regarding Summer Playground Program

March 30, 2021

WARREN, Pa. – Warren City Council will hold a special meeting to discuss the Summer Playground Program on April 5.

The City announced on its website earlier this month that the program was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The purpose of the meeting is discussion of the Summer Park Program and any other business that may properly come before Council,” the meeting page on the city’s website read.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. and those wishing to attend may do so in person or via Zoom. Pre-registration is required for those wishing to attend via Zoom.

The Summer Playground Program was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic as well. Though the program is canceled, playgrounds will be open for public use.

When operational, the program provides staff who “conduct energized outdoor activities for children aged 7 to 14,” according to the city. “Registered participants enjoy a wide variety of daily activities including sports, arts and crafts, and games which are provided at no cost.”
