Carmen Kujava

Carmen Mauk Kujava, 97, of Sheffield, PA., died Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Warren Manor after an extended illness. 

Carmen was born May 22, 1923 in Sheffield, PA, where she was a lifelong resident.  She was the daughter of the late Forest and Ella Wilson Mauk.  Carmen was a 1941 graduate of Sheffield High School and employed with the former Blackstone Corporation of Sheffield, PA.  She retired from the Ruth Smith Home working there for 25 years.  Carmen was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church.  She was an avid cook.  Her greatest joys in life were time spent with her family, grandchildren and the children of the Ruth Smith Home.  

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lee Rossi and husband, Fred of Adrian, MI, 6 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, Daughter-in-law Cindy Kujava Tamberlin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Kujava whom she married November 4, 1943 in Sheffield, PA, who died April 12, 1998; 1 Son – Wallace Kujava, 3 Sisters – Connie L., Reichard, Elizabeth Cobb, Ellen Jackson, 1 Brother – Wallace Mauk, and an infant sister, Delores Mauk. 

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be conducted at 10:00A.M. Monday, January 4, 2021, at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 7222 Route 6, Sheffield, PA, with Fr. Stephen Schreiber, Pastor, officiating.  Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through a charity of one’s choice.  E-mail condolences may be sent by visiting The Donald E.
