YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Police now say the video they released Friday, July 14, is not of escaped prisoner Michael C. Burham.
“We can now also say, with relative certainty, the individual depicted in that video is not Burham,” Lieutenant Colonel George Bivens, Deputy Commissioner of Operations for the Pennsylvania State Police, said at a media conference in Youngsville Saturday.
When asked by Your Daily Local at the media conference how they came to that conclusion after being so certain it was Burham 24 hours earlier, Bivens said additional tips from people in that area led them to the conclusion that it most likely isn’t him.
“We had someone come forward and assist with identifying the person it likely is,” Bivens said. “While we can’t say 100%, I know longer believe that video is likely Burham.”
On Friday, PSP released a video that they said believed to be Burham walking past a residence in an area Bivens refused to divulge other than saying it was “South of the City”.
“This is footage from a video doorbell,” Bivens said Friday. “What it depicts . . . is an individual we believe to be Burham walking past this residence just after 5 a.m. headed toward the woods.”
Bivens said after receiving tips from other people in the unknown area, it was however determined to most likely not to be Burham.
