Big Fifth Inning Sends Youngsville Past Union City

UNION CITY, Pa. – Youngsville scored four times in the fifth inning to rally for a 7-5 win over Union City.

The Eagles trailed 3-2 before the 4-run fifth and tacked on an insurance run in the seventh before Union City scored twice in the bottom of the seventh.

In the fifth for Youngsville, James Johnson hit a fly ball and reached on an error, allowing Ethan Senz and Wyatt Dalrymple to score. Matt DeSimone followed with an RBI double and Nate Lucks an RBI single for Youngsville.

Lucks drove in two runs, while Dalrymple had two hits, including a double, and two runs, DeSimone had two hits, Johnson had an RBI and two runs, and Senz had a run and an RBI.

David Manning got the win, going the distance and allowing five runs (four earned) on 10 hits, striking out seven and walking one.

Lucas Doutt doubled, tripled, scored two runs and had an RBI for Union City, while Daithan Kent was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Luke Racop took the loss, allowing six runs (all unearned) in five innings on six hits while striking out seven.
