BASEBALL: Corry Tops Warren; Ike, Cambridge Springs Suspended Due to Rain; YHS, Iroquois Moved to Tuesday

WARREN, Pa. – Corry scored seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings on its way to an 8-1 win over Warren.

Max Rimdzius had a big day at the plate for the Beavers, going 2-for-5 with four RBIs. Caleb Marrs brought in another run on a bases-loaded walk, as the Beavers also took advantage of four Warren errors.

Leading 1-0 with one out and the bases loaded in the fourth, an error, a single, and a pair of walks helped Corry break the game open with a 5-1 lead. A bases-loaded error in the fifth brought in two more runs, and a groundout registered the final run of the game.

Nathan Lesher got the complete-game victory, allowing five hits in his seven innings of work, striking out nine without issuing a walk.

Carson Farr took the loss for Warren, allowing five runs (three earned) in 3 ⅓ innings on five hits, one strikeout, and four walks. Aidan Zdarko gave up three runs, one earned, on two hits, with three walks, and two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. JT Blum and Owen Blum each pitched a scoreless inning. JT Blum didn’t allow a hit and issued one walk, while Owen Blum gave up one hit and struck out two.

Brady Berdine had the lone Dragon RBI on a fielder’s choice, while Anthony Errett went 2-for-3.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Eisenhower and Cambridge Springs made it through three innings Monday before rain forced the game to be suspended.

The Blue Devils held a 3-2 lead at the time the game was suspended, no makeup date has been announced. Both teams had scored all their runs with two outs.

Cambridge Springs had a triple and a double in the second to take a 3-0 lead, but Eisenhower answered with a 2-run Camron Jakubczak single in the third.

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – The scheduled Iroquois at Youngsville contest was postponed due to a lack of available umpires.

The teams have agreed to play at Iroquois Tuesday, with the first pitch scheduled at 5 p.m. The game scheduled for May 16 at Iroquois will now be played at Youngsville.
