Another Record Falls as Harrison Takes District Gold

March 6, 2021

ERIE – The record-setting season for Warren swimmers continued Saturday at the District 10 Class 3A boys’ swimming championships.

Hugh Harrison broke the school record on his way to D10 gold in the 200 IM and punched his ticket to the PIAA Class 3A State Swimming Championships at Cumberland Valley High School March 20.

Harrison finished with a time of 2:01.28, breaking the school record set by Curt Jablonowski in 1989. Much like Katie Beyer did during Friday’s meet, Harrison flew by the rest of the field. He finished more than six seconds in front of McDowell’s Erich Fuhrman (2:07.64). Harrison’s teammate Derek Hahn (2:10.97) took fourth in the event.

Harrison also took second in the 100 butterfly. Max Harrison was a silver medalist in the 100 free as was the Dragons’ 400 free relay team of Hugh Harrison, Hahn, Max Harrison and Graham Carr. Connor Fehlman finished third in the 500 free.
