WARREN, Pa. – After another solid season that saw the Youngsville baseball team reach the District 10 semifinals, the individual accolades are starting to roll in for the Eagles.
On Thursday, Youngsville seniors Matt DeSimone and Nate Lucks were named to the YDL Sports Network District 10 All-District Baseball team. Both players were first-team selections.
DeSimone earned his third All-District selection (second-team in 2022, first-team in 2023) as an outfielder with another big year for the Eagles. He hit .586 (1.526 OPS) with 10 doubles, two triples, and two home runs. He drove in 28, scored 31 runs, and stole 25 bases.
Lucks earned his first All-District selection as the first-team catcher. He hit .443 (1.293 OPS) with five doubles, a triple, and four home runs. He scored 26 runs, had 23 RBIs, and stole 12 bases.
Cathedral Prep’s Jason Fultz was named Player and Pitcher of the Year, Saegertown’s Blake Burchill was named Rookie of the Year, and Saegertown’s Nick Leslie Manager of the Year.
