YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Youngsville needed just eight innings to complete a doubleheader sweep of Forest Area, winning 14-3 in five innings in Game 1 and 17-0 in three innings in Game 2.
The Eagles scored eight runs in the fourth inning of the first game, as Matt DeSimone went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBI, and two runs.
Also for the Eagles, Ethan Senz was 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, Kegan Mesel was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, Alex Patch was 1-for-2 with three RBIs and Nate Leamon was 1-for-1 with two RBIs and two runs.
Wyatt Dalrymple got the win, allowing three runs in five innings on four hits, striking out nine, and walking one.
Colton Kuntz tripled for Forest Area, while Zach Carll was 1-for-3 with three RBIs.
Kuntz took the loss, allowing six runs (three earned) in three innings on four hits, striking out two and walking five.
In Game 2, James Johnson had a three-inning no-hitter for Youngsville, striking out seven and walking two.
The Eagles took advantage of 10 walks and four errors, as Gavin Bundy finished with three RBIs. DeSimone was 2-for-2 with three runs, while Talon Mesel was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Logan Daughterty had two RBIs, and Johnson and Nate Lucks had one RBI each.
Kuntz took the loss, allowing four runs in ⅔ of an inning on two hits and two walks.
MCDOWELL 9, WARREN 0
ERIE, Pa. – Jake Hower, Izaak Ogrodowczyk, and Brady Kramer had two RBIs each as McDowell earned a 9-0 win over Warren.
Carter Swanton was 3-for-3 and scored four runs for the Trojans, who scored in every inning. Jake Banks was also 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run.
Santino Musone got the win, tossing five shutout innings, striking out seven, and allowing three hits and three walks.
Brady Berdine took the loss, allowing seven runs (four earned) in four innings on six hits, striking out eight and walking three.
