Youngsville, Eisenhower, Warren Boys Fall To Start Season

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Down several starters, the Youngsville boys basketball team fought hard in what was ultimately a 45-43 setback against Maplewood on Friday.

Ethan Kesterholt led Youngsville with 14 points, while Carson Chase and Timber Bower added nine each.

Brandon Snell poured in a game-high 22 points for the Tigers, while Logan Kennedy added 12.

UNION CITY 63, EISENHOWER 51

UNION CITY, Pa. – Eisenhower’s Owen Trumbull erupted for 23 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Knights fell at Union City in their opener on Friday, 63-51.

Union City got 19 points from Matthew Bennett in the win.

Union City led 29-18 at halftime. 

Shane Uber had 11 points and Kyler Shaffer nine for the Bears.

Zane Alexander added seven points and Jake Venman six for EHS.

HARBOR CREEK 46, WARREN 26

WARREN, Pa. – The Warren Dragons were limited to just seven first-half points in a rematch of last season’s D-10 Class 4A third-place game, ultimately falling 46-26 in their season opener.

The Dragons were outscored 18-2 in the decisive second quarter.

Cody Smith had 13 points to pace Harbor Creek, while Ben Berdine had eight to lead Warren.
