WCYFL Warren Dawgs Victorious Over Cameron County in Season Opener

SHEFFIELD, Pa. – The Warren Dawgs opened their inaugural season with a 12-6 win over visiting Cameron County on Wolverine Mountain on Sunday, Aug. 7.

Collin Havers rushed for more than 100 yards and a TD to pace the offense, while Tanner Stuart scored the Dawgs’ first touchdown and rushed for over 60 yards.

Stuart, Jeremiah Lyons, and Grant May led the team in tackles. Lyons and Johnathan Sullivan each had a forced fumble, recovered by the Dawgs.

The Dawgs are a 5th and 6th grade travel football team that is part of the Warren County Youth Football League. A second team, the Hogs, will open their season on the road this week and will have their home opener on Aug. 21. Both teams are currently playing their home games at Sheffield High School, but will move to War Memorial Field once the field renovation is complete.
