WCYFL: Dawgs Defense Dominates in Shut Out Over Coudersport; Falcons Blank Razorbacks

WARREN, Pa. – The Warren Dawgs put on a dominant defensive display amassing 10 sacks and holding Coudersport to negative yards in a 20-0 win on Saturday.

Chase Raub led the way with five sacks, while Noah Pape added three more. Jeremiah Lyon led the Dawgs in tackles with 11, while Raub and Pape each had nine. Raub and Pape each forced a fumble as well.

Clayton Hammerbeck, Logan Beedle, Hunter Ingerson, Keegan Weissinger, Laine Jackson and Ryan Hilliard also contributed in tackles as the Dawgs were completely smothering for the second straight game.

The Dawgs didn’t waste any time offensively either as Timothy Cope ran 43 yards to paydirt on the second play from scrimmage. Cope had 61 of the Dawgs’ 143 rushing yards on the day, with offensive linemen Lyon, Owen Young, Isaiah Cook, Scotty Skidmore, and Lucas Copley paving the way. John Nunez had a 34-yard rushing TD.

Weissinger had 41 passing yards, including a 12-yard touchdown to Hammerbeck. He also had PAT passes to Nunez and Raub.

Week 2 players of the game were Weissinger for Offense and Raub for defense.

The Warren Dawgs (2-0) will head to Smethport (0-2) on Sept. 9. Game time set for 1 p.m.

COUDERSPORT 6, RAZORBACKS 0

WARREN, Pa. – One touchdown pass proved to be the difference in a defensive slugfest as Coudersport outlasted the Warren Razorbacks, 6-0.

The Razorbacks drove down to the Coudersport 6-yard-line in the second half, but were unable to convert on fourth down to tie the game.

Coudersport scored its touchdown in the first half.

The Razorbacks’ offense was lead by Harrison Williams with 55 rushing yards, Triton Ringer had 34 rushing yards and Jaxson Boozer rushed for 3 yards. AJ Harris had the only catch of the game on offense.

On defense Alex Haight led the team with 7 tackles, Jack Shattuck had 4 tackles, Harrison Williams had 3 tackles, Jaxson Boozer had 3 tackles, Jesse Sheets had 3 tackles, Triton Ringer had 2 tackles, Zach Mocny had 2 tackles, Julian Darrieux had 2 tackles, Gideon Milliman had 2 tackles, AJ Harris had 1 tackle and Kaison Sutton had 1 tackle.

The Razorbacks travel next week to Cameron County to play at 11 a.m.
