The school district made clear they are aware of the ongoing debate in Pennsylvania regarding spectators and will provide updates as state guidelines change.

The release reads:

Varsity Football

EMHS, SAMHS, and WAHS will handle football in a similar fashion. The teams they play have agreed to provide tickets to ONLY the home team parents/fans. Said another way, when a team is playing AWAY, AWAY fans will not be permitted to attend the game.

SAMHS, because of their agreement in place with Sheffield Township, will not be collecting money at the gate for tickets. Both EMHS and WAHS will be collecting money at the gate for tickets.

Football games will be limited to 250 total people. If tickets are limited at football games due to large student participation groups or we are deciding how to distribute some remaining tickets, we will start with senior participants and work our way through the classes until tickets are gone. Efforts are being made to live-stream these events.

Each football field has an interesting combination of district-owned and privately owned property. It is going to be an interesting adventure.

  • Eisenhower has the first football game of the season on Friday night at HOME.
  • Sheffield has their first game on Saturday afternoon at HOME.
  • Warren will miss its first football game due to COVID quarantine, but they are on track for scheduling their second game on Monday, September 21st as an AWAY contest. This is a rescheduling of their planned game with Conneaut that was scheduled on September 18th.

Fall Cheerleaders (Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Middle School) will be in attendance at HOME football games at their respective levels.

Marching Band WAHS and EMHS band will be playing at their HOME football games.

Cross-Country (Boy and Girl)Golf (Boy and Girl), and Tennis (Girl) should not be a problem. They are all outdoors, and the number of fans is not an issue.

Soccer (Boy and Girl), based upon previous years, should not be a problem with the outdoor 250-person cap.

To be safe, we are going to issue tickets for these events. HOME players will each get “x” number of tickets to distribute to family members. Leftover tickets will be offered to the AWAY team for their family members.

The WAHS / EMHS soccer matches always pull in a larger crowd, so the schools are working together to determine how they want to manage tickets, and it will be comparable for each match they play. Efforts are being made to live-stream these events.

Volleyball will be limited to players, coaches, and game personnel due to being indoors with a cap of 25. Efforts are being made to live-stream these events.

Junior Varsity Football will be handled like soccer.

Based upon previous years, attendance should not be a problem with the outdoor 250-person cap. To be safe, we are going to issue tickets for these events. HOME players will each get “x” number of tickets to distribute to family members. Leftover tickets will be offered to the AWAY team for their family members.

Middle School Girls Basketball will be limited to players, coaches, and game personnel due to being indoors with a cap of 25. Efforts are being made to live-stream these events.

Middle School Football will also be handled like soccer.

Based upon previous years, attendance should not be a problem with the outdoor 250-person cap. To be safe, we are going to issue tickets for these events. HOME players will each get “x” number of tickets to distribute to family members. Leftover tickets will be offered to the AWAY team for their family members.

All events will have a sign-in for every person entering the venue for contact tracing purposes. Masks and social distancing will be required. Players, in every circumstance, will be screened for symptoms. Athletes do not have to wear masks when engaged in the contest. They do have to wear them on the sidelines, benches, etc.
