WCSD Master Facilities Plan Survey Available, Decision Timeline Updated

April 10, 2023

RUSSELL, Pa. – The next step in the Warren County School District’s Master Facilities Planning process is currently underway.

The District released a public survey on Friday to gather input to help inform decisions related to its master facility planning process.

“The District is committed to providing opportunities for the community to have a voice in the process,” Superintendent Amy Stewart said. “The survey results will help inform the Board in their decision-making.”

Survey responses need to be submitted by April 21.

Strategy Solutions, the firm retained by the district to consult on the planning process, is administering the survey.

The survey can be found here.

The district has also posted an updated timeline for its MFP process.

Under the revised timeline, the second Public Engagement Session will be held at 6 p.m. on April 18 at the Central Office in Russell. During that session, the public will be asked to weigh the pros and cons of the remaining high school reconfiguration options on the table.

The school board will hold a work session on April 24 to narrow the current list of six options down to 2 – 3 options. District administration will then work to provide feasibility and costs associated with those 2-3 options.

A final Public Engagement Session is scheduled for May 9 (again at 6 p.m. at Central Office) to trim the list to two remaining options. The public will again be asked to weigh the pros and cons of those two options.

Finally, the school board will have a work session on May 22 to make a decision on which option to move forward with.
