WCCS Student Earns First Place in Poetry Contest

February 12, 2021

In response to a challenge from her English teacher, Lilly Little submitted an entry to the Day of Poetry Contest, which has been sponsored by the Titusville Arts Council for the past thirty-six years. Their theme this year was the sense of smell. Lilly’s heartfelt poem, “Wonderful Smells”, earned a first-place award as well as a cash prize in the youth category. The poem highlighted her enjoyment of wonderful outdoor smells while exploring with a beloved pet who later grew ill and died. Lilly is the daughter of Matt and Casey Fisher from Corry.  She is a tenth-grade honor student at Warren County Christian School who also enjoys playing guitar and meeting new people through her job at the Corry YMCA.
