Warren Freshman Newton Tabbed Region 4 Girls' Track and Field Athlete of the Year

SHARON, Pa. – Warren’s Lilly Newton was named Region 4 girls’ track and field Athlete of the Year, as all-region teams were released.

The teams are based on the top times, heights, and distances in each event.

Newton, who finished second at the D10 championships and qualified for states in the 400, was also first team in the 200 and high jump and on the 400 relay team that also included Laney Gatto, Gracie Gatto, and Lindsey Madigan.

Madigan was first team in the 100 and triple jump as well, while Shyann Rulander was first team in the 1600 and 3200 and Laney Gatto in the pole vault, and Jenna Kophazy in the javelin for the unbeaten Region 4 champion Lady Dragons.

Eisenhower’s Mackenzie Dunn was first team in the discus and shot put.
