JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – The Warren boys’ majors all-stars rallied for a 9-4 win over Ridgway on Wednesday to stay alive.
Warren trailed 4-2 going into the fourth inning but scored four times to take a 6-4 lead.
Wes Wilcox and Keegan Weissinger doubled and singled with one out, followed by a fielder’s choice from Matt Shippee, a walk to Lauson Hoisington, and then the big blow, back-to-back doubles from Eddie Abplanalp and Conner Smith.
Warren scored three more times in the fifth on RBI hits from Wyatt Wilson, Wilcox, and Logan Ristau to bring in Dru Abbey, Tucker Sanford, and Wilson to essentially put the game away.
Tanner Stuart, Ty Bryan, and Wilcox combined to strike out 15. Bryan got the win in relief, going three innings and striking out six without allowing a run, while Wilcox went the final two innings, recording all six of his outs via strikeout. The trio allowed just three hits.
Warren has another elimination game on Friday at 6 p.m. at Brookville.
