Storm Causes Widespread Power Outages In Warren County

WARREN, Pa. – A severe thunderstorm that brought heavy rain and high winds to Western Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon left many in Warren County without power.

As of Sunday at 10:20 p.m., Penelec reported 6,053 residents still effected by outages in Warren County, as well as 2,978 in Erie County, 2,649 in Forest County, 3,605 in Crawford County, 3,584 in Clarion County, 3,147 in McKean County and 5,976 in Venango County.

The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning for most of Pennsylvania on Sunday that predicted widespread power outages, and, as of 10:20 p.m., Penelec reported more than 75,000 residents still without power.

The power company said the outages were due to weather conditions and they are working to resolve the issue.
