UNION CITY, Pa. – Sheffield was swept in a dual meet at Union City on Monday with the boys falling 83-63 and the girls 93-57.

See the full results.

The boys swept the relays with the 400 relay of Alex Marfink, Dylan Hardwick, Isaac Hammerbeck, and Colby Barr, the 1600 relay of Austin Fiscus, Marc Lewis, Barr, and Hardwick, and the 3200 relay of Lewis, Emre Morgan, Alex Eaton, and Chase Kyler. Hardwick also took first in the 400. The Wolverines swept the 300 hurdles with Chase Fetzeck first, Zachary Barnes second, and Christopher Joblon third.

The girls swept all three throwing events. In the shot put, Madison Snell took first, Madison Connolly second, and Kadence Steffan third. Emma Roell won the discus, followed by Snell and Steffan. In the javelin, it was Emily Davidson first, Connolly second, and Paris Foster third.

Connolly and Snell were also part of the winning 400 relay team with Raelyn Wightman and Katie Finch. Sarah Hoffman took first in the 100 hurdles and Olivia Romanosky won the high jump (her winning jump was 4-5, though the results posted incorrectly state 4-11).

“I was really proud of our lady throwers today,” Sheffield coach Jason Snell said. “They have been practicing a lot and it showed today. Best part is they are mostly younger underclassman. We have also been dealing with the injury bug lately so we have had a lot of folks filling in on our relays (both boys and girls) recently and especially today. Madison Connolly stepped up big time practicing with the 4×100 team about 5 minutes before they ran on a whim and ran an amazing leg filling in with the ladies switching legs and still winning and posting a great time!”

Sheffield hosts the Warren County Track Meet on Thursday.
