Senate Candidate Dr. Oz Makes His Case During Campaign Stop in Warren

March 2, 2022

WARREN, Pa. – “We need our mojo back.”

That theme was central as Republican Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz hosted a campaign rally at the Woman’s Club of Warren on Tuesday.

Oz, a television personality and author, touched on several subjects during his visit, including COVID-19, in which he has publicly challenged Dr. Anthony Fauci, as well as energy issues.

“We’ve been ostracized and left out of the process,” Oz said. “That’s why I challenged Dr. Fauci to the debate. He’s middle management. We don’t have any ability to alter (mitigation rules). I believe it should be done at the local level. We have many resources and we didn’t do well. Someone’s got to be blamed for that failure because we did fail.

“I’m just going to call it as I see it. We’ve finally had mask mandates lifted. They weren’t following the science, they were following political science. Science is man-made and supposed to be used to help man.”

On the energy issues, Oz argued: “We want windmills to power the country and they can’t do it yet. Impossible to build a green solar solution faster than President Biden has projected it to happen.

“The Keystone XL Pipeline should never have been closed. Why did it close? You don’t want it to exist because you want to be green. There wasn’t anything with the pipeline that I could identify as a major risk.”

Perhaps Oz’s most telling remarks came when he addressed what he felt were the biggest issues facing Pennsylvanians.

“We have a state that is desperately short on workers,” he said. “We need to remind people why we’re a top-five state. Not all states are suffering. Some states are thriving. We’ve got industries that are underserved. If I was going to invest I’d invest in Pennsylvania across the entire range of industries because no one’s functioning at full speed. Not because they don’t have demand, but they don’t have people to make the products, they don’t have basic infrastructure tools, they don’t have supply chains, things we need to address in order for these businesses to thrive.

“And we’ve been quiet and tolerated it for too long. It’s the coolest place to ever be. I love the Commonwealth and I realize what it can be.”
