Richard E. Knepshield


Richard E. Knepshield, 78, of Warren, Pa., formerly of Gerry, N.Y., passed away Monday (Sept. 20, 2021) in Cambridge of Warren.

He was born January 30, 1943, in Apollo, Pa., the son of the late John O. and Elizabeth Klingensmith Knepshield.

Richard attended Cassadaga Valley High School and in earlier years was employed by Blackstone Corporation, Proto Tool, Malleable Iron and Chautauqua Hardware. Prior to retirement he was employed by Truck Lite.

He was a member of the Gerry Volunteer Fire Department, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, Falconer Rod & Gun Club and Falconer Moose. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, and four wheeling.

Surviving are four children: Scott (Denise) Knepshield of Ellicottville, N.Y., Roy Knepshield of Schuylkill Haven, Pa., Tammy (Chris) Sebastiano of Warren, Pa., Simon (Rachel) Knepshield of Falconer; four grandchildren: Nicholas Knepshield, Brandon Knepshield, Emily Knepshield and Allyson Knepshield; three brothers: Gary (Sharon) Knepshield of LeRoy, N.Y., James (Pam) Knepshield, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Daniel (Darlene) Knepshield, Bemus Point, and a sister Joyce (Donald) Phillips Bruceton Mills, W.V.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers: Jack, William, Robert and David Knepshield and an infant brother Dean Knepshield.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Falconer Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Penhollow of James-town Community Chapel will officiate. Burial will be in Gerry Hill Cemetery.
