TIDIOUTE, Pa. – A total of 13 dead animals were found by Pennsylvania State Police after searching a home in Warren County on Tuesday.

Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police responded to an address on Tidioute Enterprise Road, Southwest Township, Warren County for a welfare check on Feb. 6. During the welfare check, members found the residence to be in deplorable conditions, with no running water or heat.

While at the property, officers observed a deceased goat carcass which was located in an enclosed porch of the residence. A toy poodle puppy and blue macaw parrot were also found to be living at the property.

The homeowner relinquished ownership of the puppy and parrot to the care of the Warren County Humane Society due to the poor living conditions. Members also observed a potential goat
carcass at a shed on the property.

The homeowner denied a search of the property when requested.

On Feb. 7, a search warrant was granted for a search of the property, which resulted in the discovery of 13 deceased animals.

The incident is still under investigation pending review with the Warren County District Attorney’s Office.
