Meadville Football Tops Warren in Battle for top Spot in Region 5

WARREN, Pa. – In a battle for first place in Region 5, Meadville had three players rush for over 100 yards in a 41-0 win over Warren.

Brady Walker, Griffin Buzzell and Khalon Simmons all eclipsed the century mark, with Buzzell going for 163 and a score, Walker 124 and two touchdowns and Simmons 105 and three touchdowns.

The Bulldogs led just 13-0 at halftime, but outscored the Dragons 28-0 in the second half, including 22-0 in the fourth quarter.

Walker scored on a 9-yard run and Simmons a 1-yard plunge in the first half, and Simmons extended the margin to 19-0 with his 9-yard score in the third quarter.

Buzzell, Simmons and Walker all scored on touchdown runs in the fourth quarter, including a 36-yarder from Simmons.

Defensively, the Bulldogs limited the high-powered Dragon offense to just 30 yards of total offense. Eric Dippold threw for 24 yards, while Ben White caught three passes and Cayden Wright two for the Dragons.
