Little League: Betts, Holden Well Service, Struthers Hose Co. Notch Boys Minors Wins

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Betts Inc traveled to Youngsville to play Calvert Pearson Insurance Group, with Betts Coming away with a 15-8 win.

Ian Lewis, pitching for Calvert Pearson Insurance Group, started hot in the first inning, striking out three batters and giving up one run to Betts Inc. In the bottom of the first, Reed Fitzgerald, pitching for Betts Inc., gave up two runs and struck out two batters.

In the second inning, Betts scored 5 runs, led by Case Neal hitting a double to get Betts going. Betts held Calvert Pearson Insurance Group to two runs in the second, even with the effort of Jansen Walters hitting a double, scoring Parker Cressley’s making the score 6-4 Betts.

Betts held their lead adding five runs in the third to Calvert Pearson’s one run. Betts added four more runs in the fourth to add their lead despite Calvert Pearson trying to come back but falling short.

On the mound, Reed Fitzgerald of Betts Inc was strong, striking out five batters. For Calvert Pearson, Ian Lewis struck out four batters and Trae Cradduck struck out five batters while on the mound. Offensively for Betts included a double by Case Neal and singles by Evan Wilcox, Reed Fitzgerald, Parker Stanton, Zack Ayers, and Bruce Harshaw. Offensively for Calvert Pearson was generated by a double from Jansen Walters and singles from Ian Lewis, Trae Cradduck, and Neal Soltis.

RUSS HOLDEN WELL SERVICE TOPS SUPERIOR TIRE

In the boys’ minor division, Russ Holden Well Service notched an 8-3 win over Superior Tire & Rubber.

For Russ Holden Well Service, Jaxson Wotorson and Conner Rockwell each recorded a double. For Superior Tire, Marcus Williams allowed three runs on one hit and two walks while recording 10 strikeouts.

STRUTHERS HOSE CO. BESTS DAHLSTROM FOAM

Ackron Hoisington and Kamden West led Struthers Hose Co. to a 7-4 win over Dahlstrom Foam in Boys’ Minors action.

West had a hard-hit double. Hoisington struck out 6 in two innings of work.

Wesley Hornstrom had 3 singles to lead Dalhstrom Foam at the plate. Max Papalia pitched with 5 strikeouts.

JOHN ANDERSON CONSTRUCTION EDGES HILLVIEW TOWING

In Boys Juniors action last night John Anderson Construction beat Hillview Towing, 8-7.

For Hillview Carsyn Branstrom singled and Josh Pikna doubled.

For John Anderson Construction Broc Bryan singled and Isaac Neal singled.
