Larry Kenneth Jespersen

January 12, 2022

Larry Kenneth Jespersen, 76, of Warren, passed away following a recent illness on Monday. Dec. 10, 2022, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Erie, Pa.

Larry was born Sept. 23, 1945, in Jamestown, N.Y., the son of the late Kenneth L. and Constance L. Roberts Jespersen.

Larry was a lifelong area resident and a 1963 graduate of the Eisenhower High School, where he was very instrumental in starting the school wrestling program. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam from 1963-67 and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He later worked a few places and then became the owner and operator of his own trucking business, Jespersen Transportation for 35 years. He worked hard to provide for the family he loved.

Larry enjoyed the outdoors, time spent on the lake and boating with his family and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also very involved with the Warren County Fair and volunteered a lot of his time and talents on the dirt track, and he loved the big rig pulls. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Norma Johnson Jespersen, whom he married on Sept. 11, 1971; two daughters: Wendy Ciprich of Russell, Pa, and Vicki Chapel of Warren, Pa.; a sister, Karen Rosier, and husband, Jim of Springboro, Pa.; three brothers: Jerry Jespersen and wife, Marita of Russell, Pa., Marty Jespersen of Dallas, Texas, and Byron Jespersen and wife, Janet of Russell, Pa.; four grandsons: Michael Ciprich Jr., Zachary Ciprich, Nathan Ciprich, and Xavier Chapel; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, Pa., on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Dr. Mark Hecht, pastor, First United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, Pa.

The family suggests donations in memory of Larry be directed to the Warren County Fair, 230 Barton Run Road, Pittsfield, PA 16340.
