MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Kinzua sluggers 12U went 4-0, including a 9-1 win in the championship, to win the Don Wood Memorial Tournament in Meadville.
Seven runs in the third inning led the Sluggers past the Meadville Bandits 9-1 in the championship game on Sunday. Landon Wood, Wyatt Swan, Cooper Charles, Allen Eaton, and Liam Hanson each had RBIs in the big inning.
Wood and Swan hit RBI singles, while Charles’ base knock brought in a pair. Eaton doubled in a run, and Hanson hit a 2-run.
Swan led things off on the pitcher’s mound and gave up one run on two hits over three innings, striking out five and walking one.
The Sluggers racked up 13 hits in the game. Wood, Charles, and Oliver Stump all managed multiple hits, with Wood and Charles each with three hits.
The Sluggers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Logan Fuller had the most chances in the field with five.
