Andy CloseJohn E. Zagst, 81, of Youngsville, passed away Friday February 19, 2021 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
John was born March 19, 1939, in Warren to the late Francis and Justine Luse Zagst. John worked at the State Hospital and then later at the National Forge, retiring from there. He enjoyed watching NASCar and going to Stateline Speedway. For a number of years, he was a brittnay spaniel breeder. He also enjoyed his 2 cats Buttons and Cuddles.
John is survived by his wife, Lois Brant Zagst, whom he married on April 14, 1978, in Kennedy, NY, and 2 sisters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Tom Zagst.
No services will be held at this time. The famiy suggests memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org.
