Joann L. Zaffino passed away December 19, 2021, from complications of COVID-19. Joann was predeceased by her father, Ned J. Zaffino, and brother, Daniel P. Zaffino as well as grandparents Clara and Edison Bailey and Carmela and Bruno Zaffino.

Joann was born on Sept. 7, 1960, to Marilyn Bailey and Ned Zaffino in Warren, PA. She was the fourth of five.

Joann leaves behind her loving son, Paul J. Zaffino, mother, Marilyn Bailey, stepmother, Judith A. Zaffino, sisters, Judy Diggelmann and Laura Henry, and brother, John F. Zaffino and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and many good friends.

Joann was an avid animal lover having had many cats and dogs over the years. She had a special bond with strays and animals that needed taken care of. She had several trail cams set up to catch the wildlife that traveled on and around her property. She loved to download and print these pictures. She liked to garden and would plant many flowers that would attract monarch butterflies.

Joann also spent many hours working on the family trees. Genealogy was something that she enjoyed doing and belonged to many genealogy websites.

Joann was a good friend to everyone that she knew. She didn’t like confrontation and wanted to get along with everyone. She was often in the middle of family and friends trying to make peace. As a people person, she would give anyone the benefit of the doubt and not pass judgment. She loved children and was always there if you needed a sitter or help. Living next door to family members she was able to offer help or assistance when needed. She was a kind and gentle soul.

Joann was also proud to be a blood donor and did so at every opportunity.

There will be no visitation or service at this time. The Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. is handling the arrangements.s.
