RUSSELL, Pa. – Gary Weber was sworn in as Warren County School District Superintendent during the regular Board of Directors meeting on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Judge Gregory Hammond administered the oath of office, and the board approved Weber’s contract.
“I would just like to take a second and thank everybody that was involved in the interview and hiring process,” Weber said. “There were a lot of teachers and support staff and community members that ultimately took part in that so I just wanted to thank you everybody for taking the time to do that. I just want to say how excited I am to carry on and work as a superintendent for the Warren County School District.”
Weber wasted little time looking toward the future.
“I look forward to working with the board and staff to end the ’23-’24 school year and again in our work on the 2024-25 class,” Weber said. “I’d also like to say that we have a lot of current competitions going on and extracurriculars. We’ve already had a number of state qualifiers. We’ve had a state winner, and even national competition coming up so we will recognize those as they complete their journey.”
OTHER BUSINESS
- After multiple discussions, the board approved the 2024-25 school calendar with students having a full day for the last day of school. The measure passed, 7-1, with John Wortman voting against it and Paul Mangione absent from the meeting.
- Eric Mineweaser was appointed as the district’s Title IX/Section 504 Coordinator
- The board approved D & R Transportation, LLC, Johnson Transportation, LLC, Lewis Busing, Suppa Transportation, Inc., Taraska Bus, LLC, and Warren Bus Lines, Inc. as transportation contractors for the District for the 2024/2025 through 2028/2029 school years and approved the associated contracts (here and here) with each entity.
